Aladdin
June 17, 2020
A few days ago, I watched a remake of the Disney film Aladdin. I was looking for something to keep me occupied for a few hours and I figured that since it had Will Smith in it, it would be worth it. It was a really fun movie and as the movie came to an end, I learned a few things.
For those that don’t know, Aladdin is a movie about a ‘street rat’, Aladdin, who falls in love with the kingdom’s princess but because of the law that says princesses can marry a Prince only, he figures he’s already lost the fight before it has even began.
Soon though, he comes across this magic lamp and genie that guarantees him three wishes (no, he can’t ask for more wishes) and he uses the genie to help him become a Prince and finally marry the girl of his dreams. Let’s just say things didn’t work out as expected, because even though ‘Prince Ali’ had the opportunity to come clean to the Princess about who he really was, he continued to lie and pretend.
Okay, I’m not about to type out the whole movie; the Princess and her father eventually found out who he really was through some unfortunate events, and soon enough, the father gives her his blessing and says he is a good guy and if she wants to marry him, she can change the law about Princesses marrying Princes only because he was making her the next ‘Sultan’.
So, what did I learn?
I learnt that TITLE MEANS NOTHING!
Most of us are so busy chasing titles thinking that maybe that will make people notice us, or that will make us cool or whatever but as FAT once said; if you was wack and you came up on some paper, you still lame!
Seriously though, money or status won’t change you (it might, but not the way you think). It might make you more popular but it won’t bring you lasting relationships. Anyone that’s really down forYOUwill be down for you whether you have status or not.
Don’t kill yourself chasing titles just so John or Jane can see what you have become, that’s how trouble starts. The right people will be attracted to you (not just romantically) no matter where in life you are!
So never ever feel bad if you do not have a lot of followers or if people don’t notice you, yourpeople are coming soon.
Peace and Love.
